🧠Slap Wager Watch: Best Bets & Breakdown for Power Slap 14
Welcome to the first official Slap Wager Watch! This is where I break down every Power Slap card and share where I see real betting value — not just who’s most likely to win. Power Slap 14 is live and free on YouTube from the XULA Convocation Center in New Orleans on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT.
This card is stacked with three title fights and a deep prelim lineup. So whether you're looking to drop a few bucks or just want the inside scoop on each matchup, I’ve got you covered.
đź’ˇ How I Bet
Before we dive in, a few quick things to know:
Never bet more than you’re okay losing. Seriously.
Odds change — what I list here might move before fight night, always check odds before betting
I focus on value, not hype.
I rarely parlay — if I do, it’s a 2- or 3-leg max.
In slap fighting, chaos is part of the game. Fights can end fast and violently! Due to this I typically follow two guidelines.
I avoid betting favorites over –300. The risk-to-reward ratio usually isn’t worth it for me.
Longshots over +300 can be juicy value plays — especially when I see holes in the favorite.
I use a custom fighter scoring system called the Slap Rank Score, which takes into account power, chin, strength of schedule, and overall performance. You may see references to this throughout.
🔥 Power Slap 14: Full Fight Card & Betting Breakdown
🏆 Main Card
Damien “The Bell” Dibbell (–200) vs. Wesley “Mena” Mena (+180)
Heavyweight Title
Both guys are coming off underwhelming wins. Mena started hot in Power Slap but struggled against the much bigger Turner. He’s slightly undersized at heavyweight. Dibbell had a tougher-than-expected fight vs. Dorian Perez, but he’s still been one of the most consistent slappers in the division and holds one of the highest Slap Rank Scores on our system.
➡️ Pick: I like Dibbell –200 ML.

Robert Trujillo (–150) vs. Dakota McGregor (+140)
Lightweight Title — Lock of the Night
This is a rematch, and the first time around was a blowout. Trujillo rocked McGregor multiple times and had him stumbling from the jump. McGregor showed heart, but Trujillo clearly outclassed him.
➡️ Pick: I bet Trujillo –150 ML. Lock it in if it stays under –175.
Branden Beaudorx (–170) vs. Isiah Quinones (+160)
Middleweight Title
This is their third fight — Quinones won the first, Beaudorx dominated the second with a first-round KO. Beaudorx has been training full-time, while Quinones has been balancing a full-time job. Quinones is also slightly undersized at this weight class.
➡️ Pick: I lean Beaudorx, but the odds are a bit wide I probably wouldn't bet on this one. Closer to a coin flip than –170 suggests.
Vernon Cathey (–160) vs. Austin Turpin (+150)
Catchweight Bout (198 lbs)
Cathey has lights-out power — but his chin? Not so much. If Turpin can weather the early storm, this is his fight to win. He’s scrappy and has decent slap power and placement. I understand Cathey won the last match up but I think that is the only reason he is the favorite. This should be a fun watch too, Turpin is a wild character and a KO is very likely.
➡️ Pick: I’m on Turpin +150 ML.
🎯 Side Bet: If you can get “Fight Not to Go the Distance” at –200 or better, I like that too.
🔎 Prelims to Watch
Emanuel “No Love” Muniz (–140) vs. Brandon “The Ripper” Rhodes (+130)
Muniz has a great chin but is moving up to middleweight — not ideal, especially since he already had issues finishing fights. Rhodes got dominated by Beaudorx earlier this year both on offense and defense, he also struggled with fouls.
➡️ Pick: Probably a pass on the ML wager, but if you can find a “Fight Goes the Distance” prop at decent odds, that could be the move.
Darren “The Tarantula” Godfrey (–130) vs. Ke’ali’i “The Chief” Kanekoa (+120)
These guys both hit hard! Like, scary hard. Godfrey won the last bout between them, but this could easily be a highlight KO for either fighter, another must watch!
➡️ Pick: Slight lean toward Godfrey ML, but the better angle is the “Fight Doesn’t Go the Distance” prop if the odds are –200 or better.
📺 Other Prelims (With Odds)
Makini “Big Mak” Manu (–150) vs. Duane “Iron Giant” Crespo (+140)
➡️ Raw power vs. durability — slight lean Manu.Zakir “Iron Man” Naimanbayev (–140) vs. Cooper “The House” Housley (+130)
➡️ Close one. Housley is underrated — watch coin toss outcome here.Nate “Buffalo Soldier” Burnard (–135) vs. Aaron “The Colossus” Turner (+125)
➡️ Burnard’s cleaner, but Turner’s size might matter.Emily Whitmire vs. Tyler Schaefer (Odds TBD)
➡️ Women’s bantamweight fight. I’ll post an update if odds drop.
🧠Final Thoughts
Power Slap 14 has betting angles up and down the card. I’m most confident in Trujillo –150, but there’s value in underdogs like Turpin +150.
